Wine Maker Dinner – Come Celebrate My Birthday

My birthday is March 8th. Isabel is making me cupcakes which will be wonderful. Outside of that, our plans are low key for the evening. The night after, we are hosting a dinner at our favorite east bay wine bar – Franklin Square.

Details are below. We would love to see you there and no need to bring a present.

  1. T & J, every time I check yr blog I’m angry at myself that I couldn´t find my way to yr place while I was in town end of ’06 into ’07… ‘Boquerones’ as you may know or not, are uncured anchovies, Spanish style– what a great pairing menu!– bummer, indeed!
    Hope I can be in town again around end of May or mid-June.
    Gotta email you at length: have a tentative go-ahead on making some test (half-)barrels of wine here in Mendoza & wanted to take a page from yr book– Sr.Ramírez has French barriques sitting around I cd ferment in, but of course, after pressing I’ll have 120- 140? liters of wine, & at this point my only option is be ‘pure’ & let it ‘age’ in some 100 liter steel containers…
    Anyway, my concern is procedure on cleaning those barrels properly for their use as open-top fermentors as you do yr 500 liter puncheons…
