Last Chance for FREE Wine Tasting: Toys for Tots Drive Ending Sunday (12/9)

Tis the season of merriment and cheer but also for giving.  We are collecting new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots and nearly have another full box! With your help we can fill our second box by the end of the weekend and help make the season a little brighter for even more children.

When you bring us a donation (new, unwrapped toy), you taste for FREE. You won’t be disappointed as this weekend on the tasting bar we have a fabulous line up with a secret santa special available in the Tasting Room, open Friday – Sunday 2-6pm.  We hope to see you with toys in hand as this is the last weekend of Toys for Tots and FREE wine tasting at Donkey and Goat!!

On the tasting bar this weekend:

2011 Grenache Blanc, El Dorado, 215cs produced, $27/btl

The Grenache Blanc is one of Tracey’s projects that debuted with the 2010 vintage.  The 2011 is a blend of 91% from a new project in Swansboro and 11% from the Fenaughty Vineyard.  Together they make our style Grenache Blanc which means there is verve to this pretty and aromatic white wine.90pts Stephen Tanzer IWC

2011 Pinot Noir, Helluva, Anderson Valley, 288cs produced, $28/btl

The ranch affectionately called Helluva (because it is a helluva ranch!) is just northwest of Boonville.  This is our second year making this light bodied and nervy Pinot that will surprise and delight.

2007 Reserve Syrah, Broken Leg Vineyard, Anderson Valley, 45 cs, $75/btl

Our Reserve Label represents a Syrah that is of outstanding character to start and then further develops structure, depth and nuance with extended barrel aging for 30-36 months. 2007 was the year we choose Broken Leg for the Reserve Syrah

2009 The Recluse Syrah, Broken Leg Vineyard, Anderson Valley, 216cs, $40/btl

Our most seductive Syrah comes from the cool Anderson Valley and we call her The Recluse.  With 35% WC and 3% co-fermented Viogner this is a Syrah to contemplate over hours as she slowly reveals her charms.  92pts Stephen Tanzer IWC

2010 The Recluse, Broken Leg Vnyd, Syrah, Anderson Valley, 264cs, $40/btl

Our most seductive Syrah comes from the cool Anderson Valley and we call her The Recluse.  With 35% WC and 3% co-fermented Viogner this is a Syrah to contemplate over hours as she slowly reveals her charms.  Bottled in January 2012, the 8 months of rest in bottle were well worth the sacrifice.
