We fell in love with Roussanne years ago after enjoying a Vieilles Vignes Chateauneuf du Pape from Beaucastel. Roussanne possesses a distinct combination of richness and acidity which together create\r a harmony and balance like no other white wine. We are calling our Roussanne Tamarindo because of its similar dichotomy and harmony between sugar and acid. In 2006, we nearly doubled our production and were forced to divide and conquer at times, resulting in our debut Roussanne production becoming Jared's project. He did a stellar job. Not one to ever force the wines to do anything they do not want to do, his single barrel of Roussanne is our record breaking fermentation at 10 months! It was pressed whole cluster and barrel fermented in neutral French oak sur lie, with bi-weekly stirring of the lees. Malolactic fermentation did not happen.\r
Aromas of apricot, grapefruit, honey and minerals are nearly intoxicating. With an impeccable balance\r of acid and richness, this fabulously dense and lush white wine lingers long after the last drop leaves your palette.
