LIB: 2014 Cabernet, Napa

2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, Vare Vineyard

Grown at the foot of Mt. Veeder in the western Napa Valley at the mouth of Dry Creek Canyon at the Vare Vineyard

Napa Valley

The legendary George Vare planted his namesake vineyard at the foot of Mt. Veeder in the western Napa Valley at the mouth of Dry Creek Canyon in gravelly fluvial soils. The Cabernet here is slow to develop which led Jared to finally take the leap and attempt his first Cabernet Sauvignon in the spirit of classic Napa Valley Cabernets from the 1970’s.

Vinous Review, October 2016

Bright ruby-red. Expansive dark berry, cherry, floral pastille and cured tobacco aromas show excellent clarity and lift. Gently sweet, seamless and penetrating, offering intense black currant and cherry compote flavors and a touch of candied licorice. Fine-grained tannins sneak in slowly on the very long, spice-tinged finish, where the floral and licorice notes repeat. 91 points. Josh Raynolds
