2015 Ramato Pinot Gris
Grown at the Biodynamic Filigreen Farm in alluvial soils of gravel & clay loam
Anderson Valley
Breaking preconceived notions has long been a rewarding result with our wines. The Ramato (skin ferment) Pinot Gris from the Biodynamic Filligreen Farm is no exception. With up to five days on the skins this wine boasts a dimensionality and depth that may surprise and the attributes Tracey describes as “Funkytown” will delight those who enjoy a more adventurous palate.
Vinous Review, October 2016
Light, hazy orange. Ginger, orange rind, dried flowers and a hint of red currant on the spice-tinged nose. Juicy and tightly wound, offering bitter citrus pith, red berry and musky rhubarb flavors and a hint of tarragon. Finishes chewy and long, displaying lingering spiciness and a touch of blood orange. Wild stuff, for sure; I'll bet that this complex wine would go with a wide range of foods, both rich and light,90 points. Josh Raynolds
