2013 Perli Syrah

2013 Perli Vineyards Syrah

Mountain fruit grown a few miles from the Pacific, among the majestic Redwoods and wildlife in the Hog Pen Block at the remote Perli Vineyards

Mendocino Ridge

These Syrah vines grow on a hilltop in the remote Mendocino Ridge where the vineyards are only a few miles from the Pacific, among the majestic Redwoods and wildlife. Of our three vineyard designate Syrahs, Perli is the most voluptuous as the vines sit above the fog line. But make no mistake, this is still a textbook Donkey & Goat with tension and subtlety and above all else, food friendly!

Vinous Review, October 2016

Brilliant ruby. A heady, smoke-accented bouquet displays scents of ripe dark berries, olive and cracked pepper, and a spicy note gains power as the wine opens up. Fleshy and broad but surprisingly animated on the palate, offering sweet blackberry and cherry liqueur flavors and a suggestion of licorice pastille. Closes smooth and spicy, featuring sneaky tannins and excellent dark-fruit-driven persistence.93 points. Josh Raynolds
