LIB: 2017 Carignane, Testa Vineyard

2017 Old Vine Carignane, Testa Vineyard

Trust us. You want this wine on your table.

Mendocino

Old vine Carignane is one of the many unsung grape heroes in our opinion that is far too often hidden from the list of varietals, never being the star. We are among several California producers striving to highlight the beauty and versatility of varietal (old vine) Carignane at the Testa Vineyard, planted in 1912 by Gaetano & Maria Testa and farmed today by 4th generation Maria Testa & her husband Rusty.

Tasting Note: A striking sensory experience as your dip into the glass. Smells play across your mind. A back and forth conversation between the juiciness of a dark berry profile, hints of cinnamon and a dusty white pepper. The dark berries are well pronounced as you take a sip and are completed by sweet sage and dusty nature of medium tannins.
