2017 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

2017 Cabernet Sauvignon, York Vineyard

An elegant, lighter-bodied version of this classic varietal.

Napa Valley

This classic Cabernet site is certified Organic, dry farmed and untilled and lives in the very center of the Rutherford AVA, world renowned for some of Napa Valley’s best Cabernet Sauvignons. The York vineyard is set in a gravelly benchland that runs between the Silverado Trail and the cool Napa River. The cool nights of this region balance out the warm days and bring a lifted acidity to balance the dark fruit of this varietal. We took our time in aging this wine before release, but still recommend further time in bottle before it truly sings.

Tasting Note:

This is a wine for dark December nights. Notes of raw almonds and barely-ripe blackberries sets the stage for your first taste. As the wine aerates, you’ll catch the scent of crackling sap, sassafras, and dewy moss. If you are patient, you may allow this wine to age elegantly over time. But if you simply can’t wait, curl up by the fireplace with a Hemingway novel and a bottle by your side when the next chilly night strikes the mood.
