SAFE SHIPPING TIP: Summer weather challenging for safely shipping natural wine. We strongly prefer a business address where an adult is available to sign on the first delivery attempt which avoids our unfiltered wines riding around on a hot truck all day.
Inspired by several glorious Chateauneuf du Pape Blancs, we became determined many years ago to make as many of the varietals as possible. Roussanne and Grenache Blanc have long held space in our cellar, followed years later by Picpoul in 2012 and Clairette in 2015. Although Clairette is new to California, it is a historical grape to Rhone (dating back to the 1500s). It is used often in hot and dry climates to balance out otherwise heavy alcohol levels and bring freshness to heftier varietals. Recognizing this crucial role this varietal plays shows you why we would want to focus on this as a single varietally focused wine.
This seamless white wine holds purity, focus and freshness as its cornerstone. Surprising depth and texture shows off well for a wine that has more of a shy and demure nose. Clairette brings to the table a fresh crisp flavor that is undeniable and leaves your mouth watering and your mind craving more! Picpoul brightens the mood even more with it’s racy acidity and tangy citrus flavors.
