SAFE SHIPPING TIP: We strongly prefer a business address where an adult is available to sign on the first delivery attempt which avoids our unfiltered wines riding around on a hot truck all day.
We don’t work with Napa for the prestige. We just love what the Matthiassons have been doing with the land to grow such amazing fruit. They have carefully converted this formerly conventional vineyard into a dry-farmed one, and with no watering the vines grow fewer bunches but they blossom into more complex and pristine fruit. Just beyond the border are more prestigious vineyards that earned Napa its international reputation – but we aren’t looking to compete with the many mighty Napa Chardonnays out there. We just made a wine that brings out Chardonnay’s lip-smacking zippiness and flowery elegance.
This wine combines a Chablis-style zippiness with a richer mouthfeel, hinting at a more luscious style. It’s a balance that will appeal to Chardonnay fans across stylistic divides. Lemon brioche, citrus zest and strong minerality from the alluvial soil come forward on the palate, with subtler notes of golden apple. Like so many of our wines, the bright acidity lends itself to food pairing, and this wine will shine with oysters on a half shell, yellowtail sashimi or lemon garlic prawns.
