The Prospector vineyards are in California gold country and the wine is named for those countless men and women who searched, often without luck, for gold. Hearty, earthy, meaty, and authentic, this Mourvèdre bottling leaves one wanting more.
An intriguing aromatic profile of mushrooms, damp earth, and an uplifting whiff of dried violets. Flavors unfold a detailed story, like walking down a woodland trail, this wine is less a shape and more a journey. Spiced cranberries, cassis, anise and olive tapenade all travel along the palate. This is a rugged wine for the wild at heart, for lovers of rocks and moss and winter skies. Pair with duck ravioli, stuffed Delicata squash or a hearty Provencal stew.
