UNFILTERED with Anthony Beckman & Alissa Lind, Cruess Wine

Alissa and Anthony started Cruess in 2014 with the dream to make unique, elegant wines from Sonoma County. When they met in the early 2000’s, both working tech jobs in SF, they realized they spent all their time and money on drinking and tasting wine. So, In 2003 they quit their jobs and started over. This meant leaving behind a life of relative comfort and ease for several years of hard work and very low pay. Harvest internships, student teaching, sweating their asses off sans-AC in a tiny Mid-town Sac apartment (rosé, anyone?). Working as the wine buyer at small grocery store while kicking butt at UC Davis’ V&E program. Drinking lots and lots of wine.

Jump ahead some 20+ years and they are living their dream, making minimal-intervention, small-production wines exclusively from top vineyards around Sonoma County. Cruess produces only about 1200-1500 cases/year. They love what they do and love to share their wines with others.
